Cranberries are not just for Thanksgiving anymore!

Cranberries have developed into more than just a side dish for Thanksgiving dinner. With all the health benefits the cranberry offers, cranberry companies, such as Urban Processing, are finding new and innovative ways to use the cranberry.

The Urban family has been growing cranberries on their 71 acre marsh since 1987. Three generations are involved with the business which is located right in the middle of cranberry country in Wood County, Wisconsin. Wood County has been one of the largest producers of cranberries in the state for many years. Wisconsin is the largest producer of cranberries in the United States producing more than 50% of the estimated 600 million pounds harvested each year.

The health benefits of the cranberry are many and continue to grow as more research is being done.
